Open Dialogue with PCC Haematologists

A stable increase in the number of patients with blood cancers like leukaemia, lymphoma and myeloma has been highlighted in Singapore.

However, advancements in cancer research and technology have created better management and a higher possibility of a cure for these blood cancers; of which, a crucial aspect in the treatment of blood cancers is that it is on its way to becoming individualised, such that each patient’s cancer may require a carefully thought out treatment approach based on several factors specific to that individual and their cancer.

Join us in this webinar, as our panel of Haematologists answer the questions posted by you.

Cancer Genetics and Prevention Strategies

Is the risk of cancer higher in some people due to their genetics? For people with a family history of cancers, their predisposition of getting cancer may be higher than others. For that matter, understanding cancer genetics and the management of these risks may help in the prevention of mortality from cancer.

Understanding cancer genetics had also enabled greater precision in the way cancer is treated. Doctors are able to have a deeper understanding of tumour behaviours and drug responses.
