Cancer is no longer a death sentence. Continuing advances in medical technology and improvements in cancer care mean that the chances of survival and cure will keep increasing. To benefit from all these improvements, however, early detection is absolutely critical.
Given that the risk of getting cancer in Singapore is about one in four, screening is essential for every person.
This World Cancer Day, our wish is for there to be a wider awareness and greater understanding of cancer.
The battle against cancer needs everyone. You, too, can join the fight by taking charge of your own health: All it takes are simple lifestyle changes and regular screenings. And you can help others as they live through cancer, helping them through treatment and supporting them as they return to life after cancer.
