Daffodil Month: A Symbol of Hope in Fighting Cancer

A symbol of hope

The first flower of spring, the hardy daffodil is a sign of new beginnings – and hope. This is the hope that sustains cancer patients in their battle against the disease. It comes from continuing advances in medical technology that enable doctors to diagnose and treat cancer more effectively, and it comes from the courage and fighting spirit that patients and their loved ones show in their determination to beat the disease, no matter what the odds. In this issue, we salute cancer survivors, patients and their caregivers. Like daffodils, their victories give hope and encouragement to all who battle cancer.
