Profile
Dr Kok is a Specialist in Palliative Medicine with Parkway Cancer Centre. Before joining Parkway Cancer Centre in 2008, Dr Kok was a Consultant in Dover Park Hospice, and a Visiting Consultant in the Department of Haematology-Oncology, National University Hospital.
Dr Kok graduated with Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery in Singapore. He was subsequently awarded the Master of Medicine in Family Medicine (Singapore), and the Postgraduate Diploma of Palliative Medicine (Cardiff, UK). In 2004-05, under the Ministry of Health’s HMDP programme, Dr Kok spent a year in advanced training in Palliative Medicine in Melbourne, Australia.
Dr Kok has extensive experience in palliative care, being one of the pioneer members of the Palliative Medicine Subspecialty Training Committee, appointed by the Specialists Accreditation Board, Ministry of Health, to oversee the training of Palliative Medicine Specialists in Singapore. He was also one of the examiners of the Advanced Specialists Training Exit Examination from 2009-2011.
He is a Clinical Tutor with the Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine, National University of Singapore, and is actively involved in undergraduate and postgraduate medical and nursing training in palliative care. He was the Chairman of the Organising Committee of the Singapore Palliative Care Conference 2008.
